How to convert JSON to CSV

    1. Paste a JSON array of objects, or upload or drop a .json file.
    2. Pick the delimiter: comma, semicolon or tab. The CSV appears as you type.
    3. Copy the CSV or download it as a .csv file to open in a spreadsheet.

    Frequently asked questions

    What JSON can be converted?

An array of objects works best: each object becomes a row and each key a column. A single object becomes one row, and an array of plain values becomes a single "value" column.

    How are nested objects handled?

They become columns named with dots, such as user.name. Arrays are written into one cell as JSON text, for example ["a","b"], so converting back restores them.

Excel puts everything in one column. What should I do?

Choose the semicolon delimiter. In many European locales Excel expects semicolons rather than commas.

    Is my data uploaded?

No. The conversion runs entirely in your browser; nothing is sent to a server.

Can I convert CSV back to JSON?

Yes. Use Swap, or open the CSV to JSON converter.
